Are you are working with very soft, crumbing or chalky masonry, building internal walls or applying an internal render? Try the softer, slower setting NHL 2 Lime Mortar.

General building under normal conditions or anything we haven't mentioned here? You probably should be using the medium strength NHL 3.5 Lime Mortar.

NHL 5 is the hardest, fastest setting mix of hydraulic lime mortar. This material is best for durable, dense and impermeable building materials such as granite, basalt, flint and engineering brick.

Its high degree of hydraulicity (ability to set underwater) means this mortar is suitable for building in marine environments such as harbours, river sides, canals, marinas and sea fronts. NHL 5 lime mortar is also recommended for external brick and stone masonry with more severe exposure i.e. paving, coping stones, plinths and retaining walls.

Choosing the correct lime mortar isn't easy if you're new to these materials. Be sure to get the most suitable mix for your building and make an enquiry. We'd be interested to hear about your building project and will be happy to help you.
