Product Details
Hydraulic lime mortar, 100% natural, does not contain any artificial additives or plasticisers.
Designed and manufactured to British Standards following English Heritage guidelines.
The lime, sands and aggregates are carefully selected and sourced from quarries in England and the UK.
The material is packaged in a tough, reusable, water-tight tub.
This makes it clean, portable, easy to handle and convenient to store.
The lightweight tubs are ideal for small maintenance and repair projects.
Mixing the mortar is really simple.
The hydraulic lime is separated from the aggregate inside the tub in a high tensile bag.
All you need to do is empty the bag of hydraulic lime into the tub with the aggregate, add clean water and mix the materials to the correct consistency.
Lime mortars from Conserv come complete with clear, concise instructions and free technical support.

Frequently Asked Questions
"What can I use NHL 2 lime mortar for?"
NHL 2 is suitable for low density masonry or non-exposed areas.
Soft, crumbling or flakey bricks, sandstone or limestone.
Internal work or sheltered areas with minimal exposure.
"What is hydraulic lime mortar?"
It’s a traditional lime mortar, it does not contain cement but is mixed and applied the same way as a cement mortar.
This makes it practical for modern construction.
It has the ability to set underwater, hence the name hydraulic.
"Do I need to add cement to make it set?"
Absolutely not, hydraulic lime sets just fine.
It is often confused with hydrated lime which can be added to cement mortar to increase workability.
Genuine traditional lime mortars do not contain cement, ever.
