This non-hydraulic lime mortar mix is used as a lime plaster finish. It is a fine grained mortar mix which is also suitable for pointing or repointing stone masonry and blocks with tight joints (less than 10mm). For traditional lime plastering you will also need Lime Plaster Backing Coat (Coarse Stuff).

Lime plaster finish (non-hydraulic).

This lime mortar is generally used as a lime plaster finish but is also a suitable for pointing and repointing stone masonry and fine architectural detail with tight joints. The mortar is a mix of fat lime putty and fine sands and aggregates. The lime, sands and aggregates are all best quality natural materials from England and the UK.

The material is packaged in a tough, reusable tub that is portable and convenient to store. Lime Putty Mortar sets by carbonation (on contact with air) so the material has a long shelf life if kept sealed, air-tight in its tub. As it dries it can be knocked up again, this is done by beating it with a stick to make it workable again.

All of our lime putty mortars come complete with instructions and technical support. We don't just supply these materials, as a stone masonry and restoration contractor we have been using them for more than twenty years. You can call our stonemasons any time for friendly, expert help and advice.
