This premixed non-hydraulic lime mortar is an intermediate mix with a moderately gritty texture. Medium Stuff makes a good internal lime render and is also suitable for bedding, pointing, repointing with brick or stone masonry on listed buildings or an old building such as a farmhouse, mill or barn conversion.

Lime Putty Mortar (Non-Hydraulic Lime Mortar).

This lime mortar has a moderately gritty finish and a pleasant rustic appearance. It is popular for pointing, repointing and rendering on old buildings, mill and barn conversions. The mortar is a mix of fat lime putty and fine sands and aggregates. The lime, sands and aggregates are all best quality natural materials from England and the UK.

The material is packaged in a tough, reusable tub that is portable and convenient to store. Lime Putty Mortar sets by carbonation (on contact with air) so the material has a long shelf life if kept sealed, air-tight in its tub. As it dries it can be knocked up again, this is done by beating it with a stick to make it workable again.

All of our lime putty mortars come complete with instructions and technical support. We don't just supply these materials, as a stone masonry and restoration contractor we have been using them for more than twenty years. You can call our stonemasons any time for friendly, expert help and advice.

Please Note We can also supply Natural Hydraulic Lime Mortar with the same consistency for anyone with no experience using lime putty mortar. Our NHL3.5 Mortar is a general purpose Hydraulic Lime Mortar also suitable but easier to use for building, pointing and repointing. NHL3.5 Mortar is also the best material for an External Lime Render in most moderate conditions.
