About Mortar Calculator

This calculator estimates the amount of mortar required to build a single-leaf (half brick) wall using stretcher bond. The results can be doubled for double-leaf (one brick) walls as required. It can be used for lime mortar and ordinary portland cement mortars.

Stone Walling?

There's no scientific formula to estimate quantities for walls containing different sized stones.

Build a sample 1m² first and measure the amount of mortar used. When the mortar per m² is established, multiply that by the total area of the works.

This method produces an estimate, by no means accurate but a ballpark figure you can work with.
