How it Works
1 Get a Sample
Take a sample of the lime mortar you'd like to match from the wall. If there are any loose pieces you can simply remove one with you fingers. If not, you can remove a piece using a plugging chisel and a hammer or mallet.
The sample must be:
- A whole, solid piece of mortar
- At least the size of your thumbnail
We cannot match from smaller particles or powder. It is important to obtain a representative sample as the mortar will be matched to that sample precisely. Remember that large samples cost extra to post, a sample between 25mm - 50mm (1" - 2") is ideal.
2 Post the Sample
Place the sample in a padded envelope and send by recorded delivery to:

Write your full name on the back of the envelope and place a cover note inside stating your email address. You can include any other information you think revelant in the cover note, the type of work you're undertaking is very useful to know.
Recorded delivery is recommended.
It is important to have the envelope weighed, regardless of how small the sample may seem. So many samples are held by the post office and do not reach us because they're slightly overweight.
3 Results by Email
You receive the results by email once the sample is matched. The email includes a product code and the accuracy of the match (indicated as a percentage), call to place an order using the product code indicated. The mortar is priced at the standard rate, there's no charge for the service and no additional surcharge added to the price of the mortar. In some cases the product can not be matched, we'll let you know where this is the case.
